The Saddest Song I Can Think Of

'Nobody Cares For Me' by Rev. Gary Davis.

I'm talkin' the live performance at Columbia University, where Davis sounds on the brink of tears at the beginning of the songs, and breaks on into full on sobs at the end. Pedophile or not (ask John Fahey), he sounds like one sad guy, and you can't help but feel moved. Despite lyrical asides like "think i'll kill myself, boom", Davis never misses a note on his virtuoso guitar playing. Great song, makes Hank Williams sound like Gary US Bonds.
